Shopee has several voucher types, and the difference matters. A product can look cheap on its listing but cost more after delivery. The most reliable approach is to claim the relevant vouchers first, then compare the final checkout total against another seller or platform.
Know the three main voucher slots
Shopee's Singapore Help Center describes seller vouchers, Shopee platform vouchers and free shipping vouchers. Its checkout guidance says you may use up to one of each type in a single checkout, subject to eligibility. A seller voucher might be attached to a shop or product, while a platform voucher can offer a discount or Coins cashback. Check each voucher's minimum spend, cap, payment condition and eligible items.
Claim before checkout
Look in the app's voucher area, on the product listing and on the seller's shop page. Claimed offers appear in My Vouchers. At checkout, inspect the seller voucher and select the relevant Shopee and shipping vouchers. A free shipping label does not guarantee zero delivery cost: Shopee says the shipping voucher must be claimed and applied, and the discount can be capped.
Compare cash savings with Coins
Coins cashback is useful only if you expect to use the Coins later and they remain valid. Compare the immediate payable total first, then treat future Coins as a separate benefit. If two vouchers compete for the same slot, test both. A fixed amount off may beat a percentage once a cap is reached.
Do a seller and delivery check
Before paying, verify the seller, item variation, return details and expected delivery. If you are close to a minimum spend, adding a low-value item can erase the saving. Write down the pre-voucher item price and the final payable total for two comparable listings. Choose the better overall purchase, not the biggest coupon label.
Compare the same product across sellers
Search for the exact model, size, colour or product variation. Similar listing photos can hide different warranties, pack counts or delivery origins. Shortlist two credible sellers and note each listing's item price and shipping cost before applying vouchers. A lower headline price can lose once the voucher cap or delivery charge is included. Read recent reviews for the specific variation and check the seller's return terms, especially for electronics or higher-value purchases.
Test each voucher slot at checkout
Open the seller voucher area first, then inspect the Shopee platform and shipping options. If more than one platform voucher is available, try each eligible one and compare the payable total. A Coins cashback voucher and an immediate discount are different outcomes: one reduces today's bill, while the other is useful later only if you redeem the Coins. Shopee's Help Center describes the types that can be used together, but the checkout screen shows which combination works for your particular cart.
Use minimum spends carefully
Suppose a seller offers SG$5 off a SG$50 order. If your planned basket is SG$46, adding a SG$6 item results in SG$47 payable before shipping, which is SG$1 more than the original basket. That can still be worthwhile if the extra item is needed, but it is not a pure saving. Watch for minimum spend calculated on eligible items after other discounts. Moving one item between sellers may also change whether a shop voucher applies.
Know when splitting an order helps
A voucher may cover only selected shops or a limited number of shops in one checkout. Price the combined cart, then price separate checkouts if the terms allow it. Compare shipping charges and voucher limits in both versions. The extra effort is useful for a large basket but rarely matters for a small difference. Before ordering, verify the selected delivery address and collection point, as a shipping voucher may depend on the shipping option.
Common questions
Does a free-shipping voucher always make delivery free?
No. It can cover only eligible shipping methods and may have a discount cap. Look at the delivery charge after the voucher is applied.
Can I use two seller vouchers together?
Shopee's checkout guidance allows at most one seller voucher per checkout. Test an alternative seller voucher if one gives a better result.
Should I pick Coins cashback or an instant discount?
Compare today's payable amount first. Value Coins separately according to whether you expect to redeem them later.
Claim the eligible vouchers, test one per allowed slot and judge the final payable total.
